by Bwear42
“Completely blew away my expectations. The Lodging is much more than the pictures show. Fantastic staff, amazing meals, sharing all kinds of fun facts on the Safari, and of course, the wildlife is incredible. Very flexible schedule, can go out or relax depending on your goals for the trip. An unforgettable experience that allowed me to reconnect in to the natural world in a truly unique way”.

Safari at Vundu Camp in Zimbabwa, Africa
By Judi R
“This was the best vacation I’ve ever had, and I am a seasoned traveler! Vundu Camp is owned by Nick Murray and his wife, Desiree. They are wonderful hosts, making you immediately feel right at home. The camp is situated on the Zambezi River. The stationary tent was immaculate, spacious and designed in good taste. Along with an in suite bathroom, there was an outdoor one attached to the tent and hot water available at all times. Laundry service was available every day. The food was consistently tasteful and well above standard fare. and the service to match. Members of the staff were all very friendly and helpful at all times.
Nick is an exceptional and well-respected guide. I wanted to get close to an elephant and he made that happen. There isn’t anything I would change or that was lacking in my experience at Vundu Camp. It was the third camp I stayed at in this, my first trip to Africa. By far, it was the best of the three. If you want to really see animals in the wild, up close and personal, and enjoy wonderful accommodations in a relaxed atmosphere, then this is the camp for you”.
Great Experience at Little Vundu
By Michael M
“This was our 22 Safari. We had a great time at Little Vundu. We were greeted by the famous elephant Boswell. It’s really thrill to see Boswell stand up on his back legs and pull down tree branches.
We were very fortunate to see the Vundu pack of Painted Wolves on two occasions. This was primarily due to the exceptional efforts of the Vundu guides.
Our visit was at the den sight. We sat at a distance and watch the 10 adults begin to become active as the sun was setting. We were able to watch their greeting behavior and then began to get ready to hunt. We saw the tip of one pups head but the pups appeared to be seating very close to the den.
Nick and Des Murray are doing a great job protecting this fragile environment. We enjoyed an enlightening dinner in their company. We received the first hand story of the BBC production and all the updates to the 5 new pups. Their passion for Mana Pools is contagious”.

Amazing Bush Camp
By Bryan
“My wife and I have recently returned from four nights at Little Vundu and although I normally refrain from leaving reviews, I feel compelled, in this case, to offer some feedback. This trip was our 10th Safari and our first visit to Zimbabwe and Mana Pools. We were met by our guide, Garth at the airstrip and immediately felt we were in good hands.
Little Vundu in my opinion is the perfect example of a simple, no nonsense Bush Camp. It’s location on the banks of the majestic Zambezi is spectacular, with game and bird life moving through the camp on their way to the river. The food provided was plentiful and delicious, the tents were spacious with very comfortable beds and the camp staff were very attentive with cold beers and laundry…. in other words ” everything you need and nothing you don’t “.
We visited the main Vundu Camp and shared a beer with the delightful owners, Nick & Des and their excellent staff. The main camp is also fabulous and we were made to feel very welcome, but we preferred the intimacy of Little Vundu…. just our personal preference.
The highlight of our stay at Little Vundu however, was our guide Garth. It’s fair to say, we have never had a better guide and enjoyed fantastic, informative game drives, whilst stopping to track Lion, Cheetah and Buffalo on foot… and back in camp we engaged in lively conversation round the dinner table. The highlight of our trip came on our last morning, where an early morning start found us spending 45 mins in the bush with the Nyakasanga Wild Dog Pack, Violet and her five pups…. absolutely magical!”
